We had superb views of this osprey perched in a dead tree at Sutton Bingham reservoir today. Despite having seen many dozens of the species across eight countries, this was my first in Britain- and less than ten miles away from my home! As always, it was a stunning bird to see- particularly so close to Hilfield!
Meanwhile the garden year list went to fifty with a pair of red-legged partridges on the lawn this morning.
